LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Starting at 8 p.m. Thursday, in-person visitation will be suspended at the Leon County Detention Facility until further notice.
Effective at 8 p.m. on Thursday, the Leon County Sheriff's office says outside contact for inmates will be limited to phone calls and postal mail. In addition, citizen ride-a-longs will be suspended, effective immediately until further notice.
LCSO says they are taking these actions out of an abundance of caution and an effort to reduce exposure to coronavirus.
The Florida Department of Corrections has also suspended all in-person visitation statewide. Click here for more information.
