VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) — The Valdosta Fire Department is investigating after responding to two early morning structure fires that occurred just hours apart on Wednesday.
According to VFD, the first fire occurred in the 2200 block of Oakdale Drive around 2:43 a.m.
The fire was quickly extinguished by the crews on scene.
Two dogs were rescued by fire personnel on scene and the Red Cross assisted in helping five displaced residents.
A few hours later, VFD received another report of a structure fire in the 2400 block of Bemiss Road around 5:17 a.m.
This fire was also quickly extinguished by the crews on scene.
Crews say the residents were alerted by a popping noise and exited the apartment prior to the fire department’s arrival.
The Red Cross assisted in helping two displaced residents after the fire.
VFD says no injuries were reported in both fires.
At this time, the cause of both fires remains under investigation.
