GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Men and women who served this country were thanked in Gadsden County Monday.
The county honored veterans with a program and lunch at the courthouse.
This was also a chance for the county to highlight the many men and women in the county who have served in the military, giving some of them the chance to address the crowd.
It's an honor that many say is just a small way to say thank you.
"From my point of view, being an immigrant and a naturalized citizen, the work of veterans means a whole lot to me because I am here because of what they did," said Anthony Viegbesie, a Gadsden County Commissioner. "I am here because of those who are actively serving to uphold the freedoms we know."
Veterans from every war since World War II showed up.
