CLEARED: Vehicle fire shuts down eastbound lane on I-10 in Gadsden County

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Troopers say the right lane of I-10EB in Gadsden County was shut down Friday morning after a semi truck caught on fire near mile marker 191.

According to the the Florida Highway Patrol, the vehicle fire happened near mile marker 191 on I-10 eastbound on Friday around 2:15 a.m.

FHP says a semi with trailer was traveling east on Interstate 10. The rear of the semi became engulfed in flames.

The driver was able to pull onto the emergency shoulder and came to final rest, facing east.

Fortunately, the driver did not sustain any injuries during the incident and the fire was put out by Midway and Watumpka Fire Departments.

Authorities say all lanes are back open and traffic has resumed back to normal.

Drivers are asked to use caution while traveling in the area due to smoke and fog in the area.
