VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) — Helio Ferreira, a pastor in the Valdosta community, has been indicted on nine counts in connection to three sexual assault cases in Oregon.
The Multnomah County District Attorney's announced Tuesday, that a grand jury filed a nine count indictment against 41-year-old Helio Ferreira, for allegedly committing multiple sex crimes against three women in 2012, 2016, and 2018.
On Dec. 3, detectives with the Portland Police Bureau’s Sex Crimes Unit, in collaboration with the Hillsboro Police Department, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, arrested a suspect connected to multiple sexual assault cases from Portland.
Ferreira was arrested in Valdosta where he is a pastor in the community.
At this time, Ferreira remains in the custody of Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
Auhtoitirs say Ferreira is charged with two counts of sodomy in the first degree, two counts of kidnapping in the first degree, three counts of rape in the first degree, one count of sexual abuse in the first degree, and one count of identity theft.
At this time, Ferreira remains in the custody of Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
This case is currently being investigated by the Portland Police Bureau’s Sex Crimes Unit and the Hillsboro Police Department.

The investigation is related to sexual assault cases from 2012, 2016, and 2018 that investigators were able to connect. Due to the sensitivity of the cases, and the on-going investigation, police say further details are not subject to release at this time.
