LOWDNES COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) — A Valdosta man has been arrested in connection with the death of Fort Valley student Anitra Gunn.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirms that Jaivon Abron, 22, has been charged with two counts of false statements in Lowndes and one count of concealing a death in Peach County.

Abron will be booked in the Peach County Jail before being transported to Lowndes County. It should be noted that Abron and Demarcus Little are friends.

Little, 22, is charged with one count of malice murder in connection to Gunn's death. Investigators say Little was Gunn's boyfriend.

The Fort Valley Police Department began looking for Gunn after she was reported missing on Feb. 14. The next day GBI was called in to assist.

After days of searching, investigators found Gunn's body in a wooded area in Crawford County. Gunn's death was ruled a homicide.

This is an active and ongoing investigation and agents say they will continue to follow leads.
