U.S. Army soldier and Suwannee High grad killed in training accident at Georgia base

(WTXL) — We've learned one of the three soldiers killed during a training incident on Ft. Stewart in Georgia has ties to the Big Bend.

This is Sergeant First Class Bryan Andrew Jenkins was a 1996 graduate of Suwannee High School.

The incident happened early Sunday morning.

Army officials say the soldiers were riding in a vehicle early Sunday morning, when it rolled off a bridge and became submerged upside down in a stream.

Two other soldiers, Corporal Thomas Walker from Ohio and Private First Class Antonio Garcia from Arizona, were killed in the crash.

Three other soldiers suffered non-life threatening injuries and are expected to be okay.
