JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. — Two teens have been arrested for shooting and damaging the doors of Salem AME Church in Jackson County.

Chase Powell, 18, and a 16-year-old were arrested by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday.

On Oct. 5, JCSO responded to a report of criminal mischief at the Salem AME Church on Browntown Road near Graceville.

When deputies arrived on scene, they found the front doors and a side door of the church damaged by gunshots.

During the course of the investigation, investigators examined evidence and conducted interviews and were able to determine Powell and the 16-year-old as suspects.

On Tuesday, warrants were issued for the two suspects and they were taken into custody.

The Graceville Police Department and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement helped JCSO with the investigation.
