TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — UPDATE 7/24/2023: The Tallahassee Police Department announced Monday additional details related to the double homicide incident.

The police department said on Sunday, July 23, its officers responded to the Mission Hills Apartments in reference to two adult females being shot.

The officers attempted lifesaving efforts, but both victims were pronounced dead by Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

The police department said it was able to quickly identify a suspect, 40-year-old Antirio Brown and the vehicle he was traveling in.

Authorities in neighboring counties located Brown's vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The Tallahassee Police Department said Brown fled from authorities and died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound before he can be taken into custody.
