TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. — Two people were arrested after they tried to sneak loose cigars and cocaine into a local prison.

On June 8, at about 10:30 p.m., Taylor County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Taylor Correctional Institution regarding an unauthorized person trying to deliver a package suspected to be contraband.

The attempted drop was seen on camera and Department of Corrections staff detained the unauthorized person, identified as Antonio Mario Arivenar.

TCSO said the package contained 400 loose cigars and a packet of powder cocaine. Arivenar was taken into custody and taken to the Taylor County Jail.

Through further investigation, it was discovered that Arivenar had a female accomplice, Heather Gamboa. She was found at a local motel in Perry.

Deputies made contact with Gamboa, who acknowledged that she and Arivenar had traveled to Perry together. Gamboa consented to a search of her motel room.

Cannabis, cocaine, four pills identified as a controlled substance, over $3,000 in cash, and more loose cigars (similar to the ones in the package dropped at the prison) were found in Gamboa’s room.

Gamboa was taken into custody and transported to the Taylor County Jail.
