The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for the person responsible for critically injuring a 15-year-old girl in a Leon County hit-and-run crash Sunday evening.

Troopers said the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday on Deer Lake Road near the Killearn Lakes neighborhood.

They said a pick up truck was traveling northbound on Deer Lake Road near the intersection of Green Land Drive while a 15-year-old girl was walking adjacent to the road in the grass median.

At some point, the truck traveled off of the road and into the grass median where it hit the 15-year-old.

After the crash, troopers said the pick up kept driving and continued northbound on Deer Lake Road. The 15-year-old girl suffered critical injuries in the crash.

FHP was assisted on scene by Leon County Sheriff’s Office and Leon County EMS. This crash is currently under investigation. If anyone has any information related to this incident, please contact the Florida Highway Patrol at 850-518-5748.
