TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — If you're traveling eastbound on Apalachee Parkway Tuesday evening, you may experience some delays.
The Florida Department of Transportation says last week a vehicle towing a trailer was too tall and damaged the railroad bridge over Apalachee Parkway.
Officials determined that emergency repairs were needed, so eastbound lanes from Monroe Street to Magnolia Drive will be closed from 8:00 p.m. Tuesday through 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 7.
FDOT says getting this repairs done as quickly as possible during the holiday weekend is their top priority.
"Safety is always going to be our number one concern, so while there might be a little bit of an inconvenience over the next several days do to the work, safety is the top priority," said Ian Satter, Spokesman for FDOT.
When driving, you will have to take Tennessee Street and Magnolia Drive as a detour.
