LEON COUNTY, Fla. — A 19-year-old has been arrested after he was found with a loaded semi-automatic pistol and marijuana following a traffic stop.

Reginald Thurman, 19, was arrested by the Leon County Sheriff's Office.

On Thursday, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office SPIDER Unit conducted a traffic stop at South Meridian and Castlewood for an equipment violation and contact was made with Thurman.

The odor of marijuana was detected coming from inside the vehicle. Upon instructing Thurman to exit the vehicle, a pat search of his waistband revealed him to be in possession of a loaded Carl Whalther .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol.

A search of the vehicle was then conducted and marijuana was found throughout the vehicle.

Thurman is being charged with carrying a concealed weapon while unlicensed and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.
