TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — We're learning what led Tallahassee Police to arrest a man on multiple child sex crimes this week.
Zachary Anderson, 25, is facing several charges related to child molestation and lewd and lascivious behavior.
According to a probable cause document, the Tallahassee Police Department was dispatched to Capital Regional Medical Center on July 21 in reference to a child victim sustaining an injury to their genital area. When officers spoke to the victim, he said he as staying the night with several friends and family at a mentor's house.
That "mentor" was identified as Zachary Anderson.
"It was later determined that Anderson is not a sanctioned mentor to these children in any way," investigators wrote.
Instead, Anderson's aunt served as a mentor and would allow the children to come to her home, where they came into contact with Anderson. Police say Anderson's aunt was out of town when the alleged incidents occurred.
When officers spoke to the victims, who were all minors under the age of 16, they told officers that they stayed with Anderson for about a week and a half. During that time, Anderson would ask them if they wanted to play truth or dare and then "dared" the victims to unclothe and participate in various sexual acts with each other while Anderson watched.
The victims also told officers that Anderson molested one of the victims multiple times during that period.
Documents say that when officers interviewed Anderson on July 21, he would not admit to the allegations so probable cause was not established.
However, as officers continued to investigate and interview the victims, they found probable cause to charge Anderson with four counts of lewd and lascivious behavior (victim under 16), two counts of lewd and lascivious of molestation (victim under 12), and one count of lewd and lascivious exhibition (victim under 16).
He is being held in jail without bond.
