TPD requests community’s help with possible kidnapping at Tom Brown Park

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Tallahassee Police Department is asking for the community's help after receiving a phone call about a possible kidnapping in Tom Brown Park on Wednesday at approximately 5:00 p.m.

According to TPD, a citizen called the police department reporting that she heard what she believed to be a young, male child screaming. When she called out to the child asking if he needed help the child responded that they were being kidnapped.

TPD has formed search parties in the park and officers are currently searching the surrounding footpaths, bike trails, and neighborhoods.

Officers are continuing their search of the area on foot, with K9 units, on bicycles, and from the air with the assistance of the Leon County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit.

TPD said the citizen who reported the incident only heard the voice of the child, so no description is available.
