TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — It was a moment of reflection for Tallahassee Police Department officers Thursday morning.
Many of them came together, remembering their fellow officers killed in the line of duty due to acts of violence.
The ceremony is a part of the department's Police Officer Memorial Day.
"Who do you call when bad things happen to you? Pretty sure 911 is the numbers you get," said Joe West, President of Vietnam Veterans of America Tallahassee. "And these are the people that have to respond to whatever that situation is and most of the time they have no idea what it is they're responding to but they respond anyway."
In all, three TPD officers, a sergeant, and a school crossing guard were honored.
