TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Keeping kids safe is a year-round priority for the Tallahassee Police Department.
That's why they offer the RAD Kids program. It's offered nationwide to teach kids about safety.
TPD Officer Rachelle Denmark says they want to make sure kids are around adults that they trust.
"If a child is approached by somebody they don't know and they haven't learned to trust or it's someone they may have seen, but just haven't learned to trust them as an adult, we tell them to go find a trusted adult," said Denmark.
The program was established in 2001. It helps promote critical thinking through skill-based curriculum.
