TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Tallahassee Police made an arrest Tuesday as part of an ongoing drug trafficking case, confiscating cash and large amounts of heroin.
Members of TPD's General Narcotics Unit and Community Policing and Problem-Solving Squad worked together to investigate this case, and on Jan. 12, officers conducted a traffic stop of the car the suspect was seen traveling in, TPD said in a release.
Police searched the suspect's car and found $3,500 in cash and 11.8 grams of heroin, almost three times the threshold weight for trafficking, authorities said.
Carlos Chavez, 38, was then arrested on charges of trafficking heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Chavez has been incarcerated at the Leon County Detention facility.
