TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating after a man was shot on West Pensacola Street on Friday.
On Jan. 31 around 9:01 p.m., the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a shooting incident near 2700 West Pensacola Street.
Arriving officers were told by witnesses that several gunshots had been heard in the area. A person was also spotted running through the parking lot after the shots were fired.
Officers then began an on-scene investigation which included speaking with witnesses and canvassing the area for any evidence. Eventually, police found evidence of a shooting and established a K-9 track in an attempt to find a possible victim.
However, the victim was not found during the search of the area.
About an hour later, TPD received information that a man had come to a local hospital with a non-threatening gunshot wound to the hand. Officers responded to the hospital to get additional information and were able to link the victim to the shooting.
