1 killed, 1 hurt after crash shuts down intersection at Orange Avenue, South Adams Street

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Tallahassee Police Department says one man is dead and another has been taken to the hospital after a crash at the intersection of Orange Avenue and South Adams Street.

The crash happened around 2 a.m., Friday morning, shutting down the intersection. The road has since reopened.

Police say an investigation into the crash revealed one of the cars involved was traveling south on South Adams Street while the other was traveling west on Orange Avenue. They then crashed in the intersection.

The driver of the car on Orange Avenue was transported to a local hospital, where he passed away from his injuries. The man driving the other vehicle was also transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

TPD says parts of this case are still under investigation, and it is considered open and active.

TPD is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, but did not speak with an officer on scene, or anyone with information about the accident to please call 850-891-4200 and ask to speak with the Traffic Homicide Unit.
