Tallahassee Police have arrested a convicted felon in connection to a shooting that happened on Main Street over the weekend.

According to the The Tallahassee Police Department, officers responded to a shooting in the 2100 block of Main Street shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Police say a male victim told police he had been walking down Main Street when the suspect exited a home and fired a shotgun into the air.

The suspect then pointed the shotgun at the victim and fired two more times.

TPD says the victim did not get hit be the shots and immediately fled the area.

When officers arrived at the scene, they took the suspect into custody and recovered the firearm.

The suspect was identified as 41-year-old Marlowe Powell.

Police say the shooting appeared to stem from a fight, which occurred at a party earlier in the evening, between the two individuals.

Based on the evidence, Powell was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.
