TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Another warning from Tallahassee Police about the dangers of leaving your car unlocked.

It comes after several cars were stolen when the keys were left inside.

"We just need to communities help in doing their part and locking their doors and not leaving keys or valuables inside the cars," said TPD Officer Rachelle Denmark.

People in Tallahassee are making the job a little easier for thieves. Police say 10 cars were stolen over the weekend across the city.

Some with their doors left unlocked, with the keys right inside. Now it's up to police to bring those vehicles back.

"We're checking areas that we know we've recovered stolen cars before. So they have got a lot of things going on behind the scenes and they are really good at what they do," said Denmark.

Again it's good to remember that no neighborhood is 100 percent safe. Some of this weekend's cars were taken from High Road, Melanie Drive, and Mayhew Street.

Denmark says if you see a car that you don't recognize in your neighborhood for a long period of time, please give TPD a call. There could be a chance that it is a stolen car.
