TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A man has been arrested for armed burglary after police responded to a report of a suspicious person looking into parked vehicles early Tuesday morning.
The Tallahassee Police Department says officers responded to the 1800 block of Larette Drive early Tuesday morning after receiving a report of a suspicious person looking into parked vehicles.
Upon their arrival, officers found a man in the area matching the suspect description provided by a citizen. When officers tried to speak to the suspect, he ran from the area but was detained after a brief chase.
Based on the evidence, TPD found probable cause to charge 25-year-old Marvin Jefferson, a convicted felon, for the vehicle burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Items from the car and a loaded 9mm gun was found Jefferson’s possession during the investigation and arrest. The stolen items were returned to the owner.
Jefferson was transported to the Leon County Detention Facility for processing.
