TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A man has been arrested for armed burglary after police responded to a report of a suspicious person looking into parked vehicles early Tuesday morning.

The Tallahassee Police Department says officers responded to the 1800 block of Larette Drive early Tuesday morning after receiving a report of a suspicious person looking into parked vehicles.

Upon their arrival, officers found a man in the area matching the suspect description provided by a citizen. When officers tried to speak to the suspect, he ran from the area but was detained after a brief chase.

Based on the evidence, TPD found probable cause to charge 25-year-old Marvin Jefferson, a convicted felon, for the vehicle burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Items from the car and a loaded 9mm gun was found Jefferson’s possession during the investigation and arrest. The stolen items were returned to the owner.
