TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A Tallahassee Police officer has been placed on leave pending an investigation into a "questionable" post shared on social media, according to TPD Chief Lawrence Revell.

In a statement released Wednesday, Revell said that he was made aware of a "questionable social media post" made by a member of TPD over the weekend.

After being made aware of the post, Revell said he called Internal Affairs to open an investigation to determine if the post violates law or any TPD policy.

The officer was placed on leave pending investigation, as per protocol. Once the investigation is complete, Revell said he would provide an update.

"As police officers, we must always be cognizant that our behavior is a reflection of our peers and agency. My expectations for our conduct have been and will continue to be clearly communicated internally," Revell's statement read. "Any shortcomings will be reviewed, and violations will not be tolerated."

The statement did not say what was said in the social media post. The officer involved has not been identified by TPD.

This is a developing story.
