TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Tallahassee police have arrested two men in connection to a homicide that happened last month on West Pensacola Street.
According to the Tallahassee Police Department, officers responded to a homicide in the 2600 block of West Pensacola Street on the evening of June 26.
While on scene, investigators with TPD’s Violent Crimes Unit, Technical Operations Unit, and Criminal Intelligence Unit interviewed witnesses and reviewed physical and video evidence.
TPD says their investigation led to the identification of suspects Jaylen Showers, 21, and Tre’Shon Bunion, 21.
Showers was arrested on July 8 after a traffic stop by TPD in the 100 block of Dixie Drive.
Bunion was arrested on July 9 in the parking lot of the shopping center at 111 South Magnolia Drive by members of the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force.
Police say on the night of the shooting, Showers and Bunion arrived at the location with the intent to rob the victim and while doing so the encounter resulted in the victim being shot and killed.
Based on the evidence, both Showers and Bunion have been charged with Homicide While Engaged in Robbery.
