(WTXL) — The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for several counties in the Big Bend and South Georgia until 9 p.m. Wednesday.
The watch covers the following counties: Wakulla, Franklin, Jackson, Liberty, Gulf, Holmes, Walton, Washington, Bay, Calhoun, Gadsden, Jefferson, and Leon in Florida as well as Baker, Decatur, Early, Grady, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole, and Thomas counties in Georgia.
The tornado watch was initially supposed to expire at 7 p.m. EDT on Tuesday. Around 6:10 p.m., the NWS extended the watch until 9 p.m. EDT.
NWS says Hurricane Sally made Landfall Wednesday morning at around 5:45 a.m.
