TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare has launched a new app that is geared to helping patients and visitors easily find their way around the hospital.

According to TMH, with three parking garages, multiple entrances and more than a million square feet of space, the hospital's growth in physical space and services has also come with some confusion for patients and visitors.

In May 2019, TMH began implementing a new wayfinding system, which includes new signs and technology to help patients and visitors to navigate the expansive campus efficiently.

Officials say part of this wayfinding system includes a mobile application, or app, called TMH Go. Now available for public download, TMH Go offers turn by turn directions, navigates the user to the correct parking area, flags where the user parked their vehicle and provides navigation to return to it later, and makes it easier to locate amenities on campus like restrooms and restaurants.

“If you are comfortable using a navigation app, like Google Maps or Waze, you will find TMH Go easy to use,” explained Stephanie Derzypolski, Vice President & Chief Communications Officer at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. “We developed TMH Go to be very user-friendly and to bring the resources our patients and visitors need into one easy to access tool.”

TMH says they collaborated with Gozio Health, developer of the only mobile platform endorsed by the American Hospital Association, to create TMH Go.

In December 2019, TMH Go was launched to TMH colleagues, volunteers and medical staff to fully test the application before being released for public use.

“The response we have received about the app has been overwhelmingly positive,” shared Derzypolski. “From TMH Go and interactive kiosks to printed directions and new signage, we have a multilayer approach to wayfinding to make visiting our campus less stressful.”

The TMH Go app is free and available for download on iOS and Android mobile devices.

To best utilize the features of the app, including the navigation, users should allow TMH Go to access their Bluetooth and location while using the app.
