THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) — Sherryll Brun remembers participating in Thomasville's Rose Bud Parade growing up here. She moved away four years ago and came back just for her favorite festival.
"I grew up coming to the Rose Show ever since I was a little girl. It's always been one of my favorite events," said Sherryll Brun.
She says it's amazing how the Rose Show has grown over the years... now welcoming around 30 thousand people during the weekend.
"Always evolving and I see more of the community getting involved and then more people coming in to check things out so It's exciting," said Brun.
And she's not the only one who has special memories from here.
"The Rose Parade's always the tradition of the town. I mean I grew up, I was in the marching band at Central. I like seeing how all the kids are kind of following behind and keeping all the traditions alive," Jeremie.
A tradition going strong for the past 98 years celebrating Thomasville's rosy history.
Their favorite part might just be the entire festival.
"Spectacular. I mean, they've got the best of the best," said Milton Hamlin.
More than one hundred floats participated in Friday's parade followed by a street dance that got everyone moving.
The night definitely ended with a bang. The fireworks show just finished closing out all of Friday's fun. There's still plenty of excitement and activities in store for Saturday so make sure you come out to enjoy the Rose Show and Festival.
