THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) — The Thomasville Police Department is posting what they say is a “call to action” for the community to help with school supplies for the upcoming year after a major setback to school events being canceled in the city.

The police department says they know this year it may be tough for both parents and teachers to find the things they need, so they are asking people to donate supplies so no one is left behind.

"We put out a query to our teachers to say, 'What can we do?' We can't answer everybody's wishes, we can't buy everything in the world, but what we wanted to do was find out what the greatest need is," said Corporal Crystal Parker. "What way can we be the most impactful?"

The department says anyone with donations can drop them off at authorized Thomasville City School locations.
