THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) — The Thomasville Humane Society is hosting the first annual Mutt Strut, a walk to help animals in need.
Bring your furry friends to walk a 5K to raise money for animals displaced by COVID-19.
Organizers say this is the Humane Society's only source of fundraising this fall with a goal of $25,000.
The nonprofit is expecting more dogs to be surrendered in the next couple of months so they need more resources, and they need them soon.
"Give dogs like this and our kittens a chance," said Lindy Dwert with the Thomasville Humane Society.
"And we also want to help the community keep their dogs, so we will do what it takes to help them keep them," Eve Rumble with the Thomasville Humane Society said.
The event is on Saturday, October 24, and costs $25 to register. It kicks off at Thomasville University at 7:45 a.m.
