THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) — A daycare in Thomasville is looking our for those risking their lives for us by keeping their doors open for the children of first responders.

Pastor Brent and his wife Gigi have run the daycar at Grace Pointe Church in Thomasville for seven years.

With other daycares closing, they knew lots of parents, especially those of frontline workers, wouldn’t have a place to take their children.

So they decided to lend a helping hand.

”We’ve got a lot of respect for the first responders here in our community and we know their jobs are always dangerous even more so now with what going on," Brent said. "And we were hoping with the services that we provide here would be a help and benefit to them during this difficult time.”

The daycare is taking extra precautions, like checking the temperature of the children three times a day, and, for the safety of the children, parents cannot go into the classrooms, instead staying in the lobby when dropping off or picking up.
