THOMAS COUNTY, Ga. — Thomas County Emergency Management is putting plans in place to prepare for any impacts from Hurricane Dorian.
County leaders held a hurricane briefing earlier Friday to prepare responders and city crews. Planning efforts already made include ones for emergency shelters, extra staffing, and a food and water distribution plan.
Chris Jones, Thomas County Emergency Management Director, encourages emergency crews to plan ahead to make sure employees have everything they need to help the community.
“We have a couple of days, so we want to instill the necessity of building that plan, making sure you have a plan in place and we will do what we normally do in these type of events, we will work together," said Jones.
Jones wants to encourage the public to make sure you have you your three M’s ready: money, medication, and meals.
