TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Tackling major issues in the Tallahassee with a community discussion, the Village Square is hosting a new discussion series called Equality of Life: Justice and Law Enforcement.

The series of virtual discussions comes after social unrest across the nation and three officer involved shootings in Tallahassee just this year.

Panelists like Attorney Benjamin Crump, Chief Lawrence Revell and many others will share their views.

The goal is to hear from both officers and the community on change they would like to see in their neighborhoods.

The series begins Tuesday, June 30 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. via a Zoom town hall.

"We just believe in walking towards each other and we hope that's what will happen this evening," said Liz Joyner, the founder and CEO of The Village Square. "And that all sorts of wonderful things will come out of it in this community and that we'll come out the other side of this crisis as a stronger community."

Subsequent Village Square Zoom town halls will be held in July with different panelists.

  • July 7 - Equality of Life: Business and Growth
  • July 21 - Equality of Life: Government, Schools and the Future
