Pelham City Schools Charter System closed until Monday

MITCHELL COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) — The Pelham City Schools Charter System in Mitchell County will be closed Thursday and Friday and all school activities are canceled until Monday, March 16.

The school was recently notified that 12 days ago a member of their school community had indirect contact with a person who later tested positive for COVID-19.

Superintendent of Pelham City Schools, Floyd P. Fort said no one has exhibited any symptoms, and that the Pelham City Schools Charter System is "taking a proactive stance."

In order to sanitize all buildings and buses. Staff will return to work Monday and students are to return on Tuesday March 17th.
