TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — One person was taken to a local hospital with minor burns after a residential fire on Jacks Drive.
At about 3:49 p.m. Tuesday, the Tallahassee Fire Department responded to the structure fire and when they arrived on scene, they were met with a duplex that was engulfed with flames.
Firefighters quickly deployed hose lines and halted the fire from spreading to other adjacent buildings.
One occupant was treated for minor burns by Leon County EMS and taken to a local hospital for further treatment. TFD says damages are estimated to be at $200,000 and the Red Cross was called in to helped the displaced occupants.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time by the Tallahassee Fire Department.

TFD says the fire broke out Tuesday afternoon at a residential building on Jacks Drive, just off of Paul Russell Road. The residence is fully involved with fire and firefighters are still on scene.
A spokesperson confirmed that the blaze is a second alarm fire. So far, there's no word on injuries.
Red Cross did respond to the scene, but has left. Firefighters expect to remain on scene for at least a few more hours to ensure the flames are completely out.
