TALLAHASSEE, Fla.(WTXL) — The Tallahassee Fire Department is investigating after a fire broke out at a home on Oscar Harvey Road Tuesday afternoon.

Tallahassee firefighters responded to a report of a building fire at a single family home at 2965 Oscar Harvey Road just after 2:25 p.m. on Tuesday.

Firefighters arrived on scene in just over six minutes to find the home with heavy smoke and fire showing.

Crews made an interior attack to extinguish the blaze while Leon County EMS treated one person for smoke inhalation.

Because there are no fire hydrants in the area, members of TFD used tankers to shuttle water to the scene from a remote water source.

At this time, TFD says the origin and cause of the fire is currently under investigation, as is an assessment of the damage.

The American Red Cross is currently providing assistance to the displaced residents.

TFD was assisted on scene by LCSO and LCEMS.
