TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A teenager was arrested after officers found a loaded handgun inside his vehicle during a traffic stop in the Bond Community.
Ja'Kobe Thompson, 19, was arrested by the Tallahassee Police Department.
The Tallahassee Police Department’s Violent Crimes Response Team (VCRT) were doing proactive patrols on Tuesday to address complaints of criminal activity in the Bond Community.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on Thompson's vehicle around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday for a traffic violation near Holton Street and Okaloosa Street.
During the traffic stop, officers found a loaded 9mm handgun, marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
Thompson is facing charges of carrying a concealed firearm while unlicensed, possession of cannabis less than 20 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was taken to the Leon County Detention Facility for processing.
