Crawfordville teen killed during head-on collision in Leon County

LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Troopers say a 16-year-old girl is dead and two others are seriously injured after a head-on collision in Leon County over the weekend.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred Sunday at 6:30 p.m. on State Road 267 and Nat Forest Road 383 in Leon County.

A Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on State Road 267, while a Ford Bronco was traveling westbound on the same road.

Troopers say the vehicles collided head-on with each other.

As a result of the crash, a 16-year-old girl who was in the passengers seat of the Corolla was killed during the accident.

Authorities say the 14-year-old driver of the Corolla was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare with critical injuries.

Both teens were from Crawfordville.

The driver of the Ford was also transported to TMH with serious injuries.

FHP says the details pertaining to the traffic collision are still under investigation.

Investigators are actively working to determine what caused the collision to occur.

Florida Highway Patrol says charges are pending at this time.
