TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Tallahassee Community College is being recognized for having the best Twitter account in the country.

According to a news release, The National Council for Marketing & Public Relations announced that TCC was “Best in the Nation” earning a Gold award last week.

“I am humbled to receive recognition for my efforts,” said Selina Starling, Social Media and Digital Content Specialist. “Representing the TCC brand through social media is an absolute honor and I am grateful to be part of such an amazing institution.”

TCC’s Office of Communications and Marketing manages the Twitter account with more than 4,000 followers.

Officials say nearly 90 marketing and PR professionals from around the country served as judges for the 53-category competition.

“Selina is a Rock Star in the social media arena,” said Al Moran, Vice President for Communications and Marketing. “She has amazing talent and a knack for sharing and mentoring others around her.”

NCMPR’s Paragon Awards recognize outstanding achievement in design and communication at community and technical colleges.

It’s the only national competition of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and PR professionals at two-year colleges across North America and Canada.
