TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Tallahassee Community College held their second annual Hunger Banquet to raise awareness about global hunger, poverty, and injustice.
Just last month, TCC opened it's first food pantry to assist students who might not have the funds to spend on groceries when they're focused on how they're going to pay for classes or their commute to classes.
"What a lot of people outside of college don't know is that many college students do not have food security, their not knowing where their next meal is going to come from and they have very difficult times concentrating because they haven't been able to eat," said Kermit Harrison, associate professor at TCC.
