TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — People living in coastal and low-lying are being encouraged to take precautions by securing their belongings and vehicles, and if they're really concerned, voluntarily evacuate.
While there is no evacuation order in place, Sheriff Wayne Padgett with the Taylor County Sheriff's office is recommending that all concerned people who live in coastal and low-lying areas voluntarily evacuate ahead of the storm.
They're asking neighbors who live along the coast to take precautions to secure and protect their belongings as well as move vehicles out of the path of the surge.
Every person in the county should also secure any loose outdoor items such as trash cans and lawn furniture in preparation of gusty winds.
