TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Tally Cat Cafe is celebrating after helping find "furever" homes for 800 kitties this week.

The Cafe has been around since 2018 as a "purrfect" place to grab a cup of coffee and cuddle with kitties.

The Cafe said they are just shy of adopting out one cat every week so far.

The whole idea is made possible by a partnership with the Leon County Humane Society as the cafe serves as a foster home until the cats find owners.

Cat Cafe owner Courtney Kendrick said they are happy with the results they've seen so far.

"If this failed tomorrow, I would still feel good that we got 800 cats into homes," said Kendrick.

Since the milestone, the Cafe has helped find three more homes for their cats.
