TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — If you're looking to do something active before your Fourth of July Cookout, check out Tallahassee's Firecracker 5k.

This is the 37th year the race is being held. The one-mile fun run starts at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K kicks off at 8:00 a.m.

It's being held at Cascades Park and organizers say it's more than just a race.

"It's more than just a run, we got a 5k and a one mile sparkler run but also a bouncy house for the kids, a face painting and hair painting. It's going to be a great day full of activities," said Jim Ledbetter, with Capitol City Kiwanis Club and Firecracker 5K. "We're trying to create a healthy atmosphere, a fun atmosphere here at Cascades Park in the beautiful downtown Tallahassee, so anyone is welcome to come on out."

You can still register online or you can register on race day.

Each race costs $22 with a shirt and $17 without.

Those prices increase after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
