TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A 19-year-old is behind bars and another stolen gun is off the streets after Tallahassee Police responded to a fight on West Tennessee Street.

Late Tuesday night, Tallahassee Police officers responded to a disturbance in the 2500 block of West Tennessee Street. When officers arrived, witnesses told them that a fight between two people had just happened.

Using information they gathered about the suspect, officers found a person matching the suspect's description in a nearby parking lot and tried to speak to him, but he ran away from the area.

After a brief chase, 19-year-old Jaquawan Clark was arrested and found to be in possession of a .45 caliber handgun.

Police say he tried to toss the gun away from him while he ran from officers. The firearm was previously reported stolen during an auto burglary in May.

Based on the evidence, Clark, who is classified as a Florida delinquent due to a prior felony criminal conviction as a juvenile, was charged with possession of a firearm by a Florida delinquent, tampering with evidence, and resisting an officer.

He is being held in jail without bond.
