TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Tallahassee Soccer Club announced that their season has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The club made the announcement on Thursday afternoon after preparing to kick-off a great season since January.

This would have been the soccer club's second season since being established in 2018.

Spokesperson Chris Petley says they have been in contact with the other teams in our region and are hopeful that we will be able to host and play a game or two late in the summer.

The teams jerseys and uniforms were ordered back in February so they would have them in time for the season.

They are also preparing to put on a small 3 v 3 bracket tournament with our players.

Petley says the club is still working on figuring out the internal finances and options for membership fees at the moment.

On the bright side, this is not the end of Tallahassee's soccer club.

The team is a community club and "will always be a part of the fabric of the 850, 229 and beyond," said Petley.
