TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Tallahassee senior center is encouraging people of all ages to get active and stay active.

The Outdoor Pursuits Expo was held Tuesday to educate seniors on different outdoor activities. These activities included hiking, kayaking, archery and fishing.

The Outdoor Pursuits Program has only been around for two years, but it is extremely popular.

Susan Davis, Head of Outdoor Pursuits Program, says staying active is a key to a long life.

"Turns out when seniors age they don't really want to sit in a recliner and watch TV all day. They actually like to remain active and get outdoors and so good for them too," said Davis. "You know staying active and being socially connected are the two best indicators of good health and long life and happy lives too."

The senior center hosts a monthly outdoor activity for anyone over the age of 18. To learn more click here.
