TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — One Leon County school is getting a head start on teaching students about Black History Month.
Head Start South City is a pre-school on the south side of Tallahassee.
On Friday, the school came together to put on a performance. The different performances represented different eras of black history.
One parent, Christina Montgomery, said it was not only an educational opportunity for her daughter, but also for her.
"I grew up in Chile, so I had never heard of black history month," Montgomery said. "So it just grew my world viewpoint, and I was well educated today, so its really something to remember all the days of my life."
This performance is a yearly tradition and the center hopes they can continue to grow the celebration.
