Tallahassee Police: Two men found shot inside car after reports of shooting on Rumba Lane

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating after finding two men with gunshot wounds inside a car at the intersection of Gadsden Street and Seventh Avenue minutes after they received reports of shooting in the area of Rumba Lane.

Around 6:45 p.m. on July 28, TPD officers responded to the area of Rumba Lane to investigate a report that two men were shooting guns in the area. Officers responed to the scene but were unable to locate any victims or evidence of a shooting.

Minutes later, a report of a traffic crash came in at the intersection of Gadsden Street and Seventh Avenue.

Once they arrived, officers discovered the two adult men inside the vehicle suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Although the crash involved another vehicle, no injuries resulted from the crash.

Police say the two victims in this case gave conflicting statements about the event, and the exact scene could not be established.
