TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Tallahassee Police Department and the Boys and Girls Club came together to give Christmas joy to the kids in Sunrise Apartments.

Teddy bears, among other things, were gifted to children as TPD wanted to show the children that law enforcement are here to help.

"I think it really important to establish a relationship with the young children in our community at a younger age and to let them know not to be afraid of us, that we're here to help them," said TPD Officer Rachelle Denmark.

A total of 40 kids came out and each one of them left with a teddy bear and tips to stay safe during the holidays.
