TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Tallahassee Police Department sent a letter to the community, including all apartment complexes and businesses in the city Tuesday night, urging them to help prohibit gatherings of more than 10 people.

In the letter, TPD asks appropriate rules and restrictions be established for the use of on-site amenities and common areas, prohibiting the gathering of 10 or more people and to discourage violations of the curfew.

Violating the curfew could result in a second degree misdemeanor. Meaning a hefty fine or up to 60 days in jail.

Officials say the stay-in-place order is just one additional step to keep the coronavirus from spreading throughout the county.
